On August 10, 2018, a Horizon Air Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 aircraft was stolen from Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (“Sea-Tac”) in Washington, United States. The perpetrator, an airline ground service agent, performed an unauthorized takeoff, and F-15 fighter jets were scrambled to intercept the aircraft. Sea-Tac air traffic control made contact with the sole occupant, but ultimately the perpetrator was killed when he crashed the aircraft on Ketron Island, Washington.
