Victory Day Parade Russian Air Force Rehearsal

Rehearsal of the Russian air force for the Victory Day military parade which will take place on May 9 in Moscow.

More than 70 airplanes and helicopters practiced maneuvers over Moscow’s Red Square. World’s largest military transport helicopter Mi-26 escorted by four Mi-8 helicopters is set to open the show. Next, a groups of Mi-28N, Mi-35, and Kamov Ka-52 helicopters will fly over Russian capital.

Beside them, Tupolev Tu-22M3, Tu-160 White Swan and Tu-95 Bear, transport airplanes Antonov An-124, Ilyushin Il-76MD and tanker version Il-78 will take a part in the parade. For sure, the most exclusive part of every Victory day parade is appearance of Russian Air Force fighters and bombers: Sukhoi Su-35S, Su-34, Su-30SM, Su-27, Su-24, MiG-29 and MiG-31BM. Also we need to mention appearance of Yakovlev Yak-130 trainer aircraft.

The aircraft took off from eight airports in Moscow, Tver, Bryansk, Saratov, Kaluga, Voronezh, Lipetsk, and Nizhni Novgorod regions. The aerobatic groups Strizhi (Swifts) and Russian Knights are taking off from the Kubinka airbase, west of Moscow.
