2020 Moscow Victory Day Parade

Large celebratory air show dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Soviet and allied victory over Nazi Germany in World War II took place in Moscow on Saturday.

While the annual military Victory day parade on Moscow’s Red Square has been postponed due to coronavirus, the only participant this year was the Russian air force.

A total of 75 military helicopters and planes made their way over the Red Square and the Kremlin.

Among the aircraft were Mil Mi-8, Mi-28H, Mi-35, Mi-26 and Kamov Ka-52 helicopters, Beriev A-50, Ilyushin Il-76, Tupolev Tu-95, Tu-22M3 and Tu-160 transport aircraft, in addition to fighter jets MiG-29, MiG-31K and Sukhoi Su-57, Su-24M, Su-34, Su-30M.

Russian Air Force aerobatic groups ‘Swifts’ and ‘Russian Knights’ also participated in the parade.

The names and photos of the veterans of the Great Patriotic War from the “Immortal regiment” flew for the first time in the helicopters and planes of the army, transport and tactical aviation of the Central military district as part of the demonstration flight over Yekaterinburg on Victory Day.
